So, yesterday the wonderful Toni L.P. Kelner sent me the cover to DEATH'S EXCELLENT VACATION, an anthology she has edited with Charlaine Harris. I loved participating in Charlaine and Toni's MANY BLOODY RETURNS and was honored to be invited to take part in this one. The theme...supernaturals and vacations.
It hits stores in August, 2010, but until then, you can always check out MANY BLOODY RETURNS.
My story in DEV is...weird. It's called "Thin Walls" and resounds with sex and death. It starts with a lonely widower in a hotel room, forced to listen to the raucous sex going on in the room next door, and gets unsettling from there.
The lineup is very cool for this anthology. Here's a list of contributors: Charlaine Harris, Toni L.P. Kelner, Jeff Abbott, L.A. Banks, Jeaniene Frost, Christopher Golden, Chris Grabenstein, Katie MacAlister, A. Lee Martinez, Sharan Newman, Lilith Saintcrow, Sarah Smith, and Daniel Stashower.
So, what else is up?
**Head down writing what I think is the coolest YA novel I've written yet, WHEN ROSE WAKES, for MTV Books. More on that as I go.
**Mike Mignola and I recently delivered the script for the first issue of the first Baltimore miniseres to Scott Allie at Dark Horse. BALTIMORE: THE PLAGUE SHIPS #1 should be out in spring. When I have an official date, I'll let you know.
**PRINCE OF STORIES: THE MANY WORLDS OF NEIL GAIMAN, which I co-wrote with Hank Wagner and Stephen R. Bissette, should be out in trade paperback very soon.
**Then there's my other September release, which I'm VERY excited about...THE WAKING: DREAMS OF THE DEAD by Thomas Randall. There's a story there, which I will blog about in the coming days, and there's a THE WAKING: BLOG TOUR coming up beginning on Monday. So more on that very soon.
Meanwhile, EVERYONE go and pick up the new CD from my amigos in COMMON ROTATION. Common Rotation vs. The Dust Bowl Cavaliers. Find it online.
